Creative Consultant, Demolition Music Publishing
After a decade of success with his LA based talent agency, Entertainment Associates, Steve segued into publishing, founding Southern Cow Music, and moving his headquarters to Nashville in 1993. His boutique publishing company garnered cuts with Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack, Rebecca Lynn Howard, and Lee Greenwood. In addition he secured cuts with Kenny Chesney, John Berry, and Lila McCann for select independent client/writers.
In 2003, he co-founded Writer Zone Music, a uniquely innovative publishing company where writers who came on board shared equity in the company. Writer/Partners include Thom Schuyler (“16th Ave.”/Lacy J. Dalton), Rand Bishop (“My List”/Toby Keith) and Jon Robbin (“I Breathe In I Breathe Out”/Chris Cagle).
Currently Steve brings his years of experience to the ambitious young company, Demolition Music, where he proudly serves as Creative Consultant, focusing primarily on strategy planning, writer development and song plugging services.
In addition, in the late 90’s, Steve was hired by Doug Johnson, label head at Giant Records, to do independent A&R for the label where he generated cuts for Clay Walker, Keith Harling, and Blake Shelton. He went on to listen to songs for Johnson when he moved to Curb in 2009, and continues in that role at Black River Entertainment where Johnson is the creative head.
